Hardware favorites

Post by BenRatt »

Do hardware favs and associated holes patterns from 5.2 not transfer over to 6.0? I did choose the migrate option.

These areas were eliminated with Version 6. The Favorites becomes unnecessary now that you can simply maintain your hardware items yourself. There is no need to keep all items you do not use in the system now that the store has been removed.

Ok, that makes sense. So I need to reconstruct my "favorites"? I noticed the hole patterns did transfer. Why can't you associate a default hole pattern with a particular piece of hardware? That seems like double the work to have to pick hardware and a hole pattern every time.

Just select the pattern you want to use. It eliminates the need to establish associations. This makes the process much simpler.

Ok, I understand that. So I can just ignore the hardware and go off the hole pattern. So the only thing that messes up is the buy list right? FYI- I'm using confirmat/dowel construction. I don't ever place pulls or moldings or lazy susans.

BTW- I do really like the new applied hardware interface that lets me select all left edges at once and change the kd fitting. See we use confirmats unless we have a finished end and then we use a dowel. That's why I have to change a lot.

You can still set up a hardware item as well so your Buy List will be correct. Now that you can input your own pricing it will also be accurate in regards to where you do your purchasing.

eCabinets always had the ability to set edges on a single part differently for KD. The new interface just makes it simpler (see a reoccurring theme here? ). Glad you like it.
