Drawer box Tongue thickness issue...

Post by MarcoKnjaschewitsch »

So this is since i have upgraded to build 3! I get random Box parts where the same program i ran 1 month ago will cut the tenons to thick!! So i have to shave them down on the table saw to fit the dado..What is going on!!! Even New programs i make in e-cabinets right now will show right on the computer and when i go to nest it they screw up.

We have just run some MDF drawer boxes with blind dado construction and our tenons are too thin by about 4mm. Go figure!

There was an issue discovered with Build 3 where the dado parameters from the part receiving the dado rather then the parameters from the part creating the dado were being used. I'm not sure if this is what is causing your problem or not. In order for us to insure your problem gets resolved we need some files. Please attach a zip containing:

- the job, cabinet, or assembly
- the twd
- an export from Control Nesting

Larry that does seem to describe the problem. I will generate some files over the weekend.

This is disturbing to find out considering I'm getting ready to start a kitchen with several dozen drawers - and I make mine with blind mortise and tenon joinery.

Any chance of a short term workaround or software patch for this ASAP?
Sincerely,

TWD:   Why not just release the patch??? :!:
This has been a known issue for some time now and is causing more dumpster food by the day!
Why does everyone need to scrap parts to figure this out on their own?
Isn't it enough that we're bidding against the landscapers just to get the cabinet work to begin with...then we have to waste material trying to get the job done at (already) slim profits? You have always been fantastic about fixing machining / CNC output issues as a priority, what happened here?

Don,

If they don't fix it quick enough for your job, you can make drawer boxes out of upper cabinets pretty easily.

You have to select the sizes manually, when you batch them, but it's not to big of a deal.

I run mine this way.

Don,

To check your drawer box dados simply do a nest in eCabinets and verify that the sizes are correct. eCabinet Systems 6.0 Build 4 is currently in Beta testing to help avoid unnecessary problems to all users. Testing is going well and we hope to release soon.
