Selecting holes in part editor

Post by Mark McCallum »

I am learning the part editor at the moment.
I have made a template or pattern and saved it. Now I have reapplied it to the left end.
I need to select the 5mm circles to drill the holes. I seem to be stuck and can't select the geometry.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Mark...
From the PE, select the contour manager. Once there, right click > select "find edges". You can then deselect any non needed, or save as an x_t.

Make sure you are in the first screen of the Part Editor, not the Contour Mode screen.

Then right-click, select Cut/Pocket using Geometric Shape then left-click on each entity (hole). Click next at the bottom of the screen, then enter the pocket depth.

Dennis,

He will need to right click and choose Cut Pocket using Closed Contour instead of Geometric Shape.

Thanks, Kerry. That's correct. Still on my first cup of 'jo'!

Thanks for the tips.
I finally got it.
This software is super!
One other question
I couldn't get the middle partitions or the deck and top to dado into the stretcher back, but I presume its because they have been modified?
Thanks for the help
Mark
