Problems Profiling

Postby Kerry Fullington » Sun, Jul 10 2011, 10:25AM

I created a tool in eCabinets
I created an arch geometry in eCabinets

I can place the geometry on a 48" X 96" Generic sheet created from a cabinet back and profile the geometry with my tool

test.hsf

When I open this in the profile modeler I am able to Verify Tool Path, no problems (3/8" end mill and 1/8" ball nose)

If I place my geometry on the same sheet and cut the part out, then profile it with my tool I am unable to Verify Tool Path in the profile modeler. I get an error.
Same tool group in profile modeler.

Hi Kerry,

If you could supply the following files in addition to the design files you provided, I will have a look into your issue:

.X_T (Shape Manager file used to design .tol file)
.tol (Tool File used in Part Editor)
toolset.bin (tooling information from Profile Modeler)
EXPORT file from Control Nesting (Tooling information and settings from Machine)

Would be best if emailed to: program@thermwood.com

Ryan,

Thanks for your response but I modified my tool from this

Clipboard01.jpg

to this

Clipboard02.jpg

and it now works on the cut out part. I can verify tool pathsin the Profile Modeler.

It looks to me that extending each end of your tool downward has allowed a better clean up as the part is created in Part editor.
