Thermwood, pls have a look, I'm stumped
Can you look at these files and figure out what going on, think it’s the first time I use full dado in ecab, and when nesting CN is giving me can find appropriate tool for operation.
The TWD enclosed is just a test piece that I want to run to check tolerance on, the only part I am currently trying to run is the right end.
Please look at asap, held up on production right now cause of this.
Thanks

Re: I can't cut this
Dave you need to add a 1/2" diameter tool to the tooling setup to cut the job.
If you write the code ignoring the error message, then open the .cnc file that is generated and look at the code, search for "error". It will describe the error - tool needed between .xx and .xx in diameter.
The full dado cannot be cut with a tool with a diameter less than half the width of the full dado thus you need the 1/2" tool. Add it in and you will be fine. I wrote successful code with the 1/2" tool set to rout / dado.
Hope this helps,
jnr

Re: I can't cut this
Stupid logic, have a 3/8 tool, it should be able to do a few pass to make it to 3/4. guess my outline tool will have to do, dont have a 1/2 downcut

Yep, also be careful that when the dado tool is 1/2" diameter and the outline tool is 3/8" diameter the full dado operations will overrun the end of a part by the full diameter of the tool, causing it to nick adjacent parts in the nest. If you are outlining with a 1/2" tool then ignore this.

Hi Dave,
Just remember that dadoes take only 2 passes per dado but pockets can be more than 2.
