Post by Mohammed riyas »

Dear's,
Plz help us...........!

we are using Rhino and solidworks for 3D design. Plz ensure us If can we able to put directly rhino and solidworks files on eCabinet for Machining, without using any CAM software for programming or any other option is there. we want to do machining, directly with 3D design files itself's.

If possible, plz let us know the procedure for uploading files or any Formate (software) which will do better. if, not let us know the other options. :?:

Hi Mohammed,

You will not be able to bring in a 3D file into eCabinets from Solidworks or Rhino and create machine code. You can bring in an .stl file from those programs and use them in eCabinets for "looks" but not for machine code. You will need to purchase the CAM portion of either Rhino or Solidworks or find another Thermwood user that has CAD/CAM software and a comparable machine configuration to yours and they could post out the machine code for you. The only 3D modeling that eCabinets will allow you to create are extruded type pieces such as crown mouldings and doors.
