Automatic Updating

Post by Ayberk EKSIOGLU »

By default Windows Automatic Updating is off. I experience occasional freezes on cold boots in the morning and maybe new updates would help. Is it a a good idea to perform Windows updates?

I too get freezes occasionally. I don't think updates will fix it. Not keen to try anyway :)

Ayberk, the controller might be too close to a window not windows it self. If its cold maybe it needs heating up. A electric blanket may help or a air conditioner on warm cycle.
Seriously a Ram upgrade might help for the little cost it is. If your game, a new faster hard drive with a big cache might help windows load quicker and reduce the number of freezes.
Jason might give some more info. What he doesn't know is not worth knowing.

Neville speaks FAR too highly of me. I mean it. Anyway, we've got the new Quad Core controller, and it will randomly lock up when doing a cold start in the morning. Scares the crap out of me every time it does it, but always seems to start on the second go. (touches closes piece of timber.....) I don't think any windows update will fix this. Like I say, I'm not even game to try.
