Does the x have to be a number?

Josh,

Yes, it must be a number. May I ask what are you trying to do? There may be another way to get what you are after.

Hi Scott,
I'm trying to modify a different post processor, and I'd like to have the secondary (reverse side) machining operation labeled so I can navigate to it. I was thinking of using a tag like M80L1-A and M80L1-B for the primary and secondary sheet operations but the M80Lx command only supports numbers. If you have another idea, I'm all ears!
Thanks,
jnr

Josh,

There are 1000 label numbers to choose from, why do you need to have a letter in it? Could you not use M80L100 and M80L200 to do your navigation (or any 2 diff values that are not already used in the program)?

That's a great idea Scott, thank you!
I decided to have the post add 200 to the sheet number for the second side of flip sheets.
So, sheet 30 secondary would be sheet 230.
Sheet 150 secondary would be sheet 350.
This should allow me to have up to 200 sheets of code before I have to worry about having two sheets with the same number. If I had that many sheets that would be a good problem but in reality I'd probably break up the code anyway.
Thanks!!
As usual, you 'da man!
