Neville, Since we are in the Northern Hemisphere, our machine does not need to be bolted to the earth to keep it from falling off like yours on bottom of the globe. To avoid having to lay on your back on the floor or table, you could maybe just loosen the thing and let it drift off the Earth so you can see better. I think the instructions can be read in Aussie. They actually are in multiple languages so you have your choice if you don't like English.

Rob the many advantages of living in the US. Non bolted down machines, non metric thread, having fractions and miles. Mexican resturants and Dr Pepper. Oh yeah American Muscle cars. The mile high club. 1.6km club doesn't have the same ring to it. You used to have route 66 and John Wayne but alas you let those go.
Better go and stand on my head.
Have a good day :P

Well we've got things pretty good up here Neville, but we're missing XXXX Gold - my favorite....
Do you suppose we might be able to work out a trade at some point?

Hi Josh,
Next time I come over I will bring some beer for you. Just hope your custom guys don't take the XXXX as being a special code for something sinister.
Last time I bought in some Vegimite only to be told by someone it was a unapproved subsistance although the company is now owned by Kraft.
It is an aquired taste that won't be accepted to quickly in the US.

We did have some making Duff Beer in Australia but that didn't last long as they never worried about the trade mark with the Simpsons TV firm.

Better get back to work
Regards

Hey all since our machine is starting to display issues similar to what the opening poster had , we are going to do a spindle exchange on our machine ~ 9 yrs old. After contacting Thermwood this is no problem (@$4000 though ) however does anyone have any advice to give on whther they think that new shafts for the tools should be replaced at the same time or the top notched parts -yes i know my terminology sucks :) - that the spindle grabs on to?
Thermwood says no other items should need replacing but just getting some second opinions :)

I would not replace the spindle and use old toolholders. I would recommend replacing ALL toolholders at the same time.
