I Always got a Out of bounds issue if using the code it spit out.. I had written the first couple lines of code to go in a few lines using thermwoods code Book and some help from here :) I see this kinda went dead but i wouldnt mind knowing some more

Just add the waste board thickness to your set spoil dimension in your m999 macro.
at the same time replace the question mark after the set Z shift with your material thickness and you will no longer have to stop and restart at the beginning of every file
Once you get the hang of modifying the posts life is a little easier

Hi Will

I have a CS 45 also & run V Carve would you consider sharing your modified post? I am quite green when it comes to PP modification but it helps to read through the posts to see what they do. A brief explanation of what you modified & why would also be appreciated. I am having a hard time getting my head around the location change from the router head position to the 901 (pins) position. :wall:

Thanks,
Gerry

Josh put up his post in this thread, http://www.thermwood.com/forums/viewtop ... rve#p69489
I thought the "push the button and pray" message was a nice touch :D .

The changes I made to Josh's post are.
I deleted the the x shift and y shift and I changed the G901 to G52L1 I see no gain in using the G901 location. I would rather locate my part near the Home location My G52L1 is X2.Y10 that way the machine is not traveling the 10' to my G901 location every time I tool change.
A lot of times these carving projects are small. As time goes by I set up at different areas of my table so that I am spreading the wear and tear over the entire 5" x 10" area

Since I started using this software I have not used the native system since the middle of December. I was using a very basic post where you push the start and the machine starts cutting .
With Josh's post the program stops and lets you double check your tool,s the waste board and your fixture offset sort of the same way that control nesting adds theses lines of code at the beginning of a program
Except for one difference you are able to write code and safe your files in D/ data while the machine is cutting
If you like I will post my version of Josh's post tomorrow
Josh
Did you work with someone to develop this post?

No I just did it on my own, though the post which outputs arcs was a result of someone else's generosity and of course I started with that as opposed to the "stock" post which does not support arcs.

Hi Will,

Thanks for the information. I use G52L # also but still use the offsets. No need to post your copy I'll take a closer look at Josh's post to see how it will work for me.
I was thinking you made changes specific to the CS 45.

Josh,

Thanks for posting your post I hope you don't mind if I take a copy for my use.

Jason
The post is back on page one of this Subject

Anyone know the code to slow down or control the G00 Moves mine is at 1680 IPM and it really jumps around when I am only running at 100 or 50 IPM

The post processor at the beginning of the thread is free to all who wish to use it, at their own risk. I would again encourage you all to carefully test it before active deployment. Enjoy and happy carving :)
