Export to Excel problem

Post by TonyGiunta »

I have a new PC that came with Excel starter addition. When I try and export to excel my job buy list, a window comes up and shows it's processing then disappears and I have no obvious way of accessing the export. When I right click on the export to excel button, I get no menu pop up so I can't save to a desired location. Don't know if this is an issue with my "starter version" of excel. I'm just trying to get a clean list of outsource door and drawer front list from a batch I prepared. Any help, much appreciated.

It most likely is your software but if you want a work around just bring up your Cut List and the Out source doors will be at the bottom. Copy and Paste to your Notepad and then edit as you like. Just a suggestion.

For some reason eCabinets will not export Alternate source doors and drawers through the by list Try exporting the cut list instead It will have a work sheet for ALT Source doors

Exporting and opening with Excel starter works fine for me, check and see what program is default for excel files. Try save instead of open. There doesn't seem to be anything special about the file so you could prob. use Open Office if you wanted to.

Daniel are you exporting the cut list for the job or the job buy list. If you are exporting the job buy list is it exporting Alt Source doors too? I ask This because if I try to export a job buy list with no hardware etc. and have all of the doors as Alt Source then It does the same thing that Toney described. If I add hardware to the job then it exports only the hardware. The only way that I can export Alt Source doors is by exporting the Cut List.

You're right, I just no noticed that's exactly how I've been doing it. I always do cut list when exporting.

Thanks Scott. Did not expect they would show up on a "cutlist"
