Group Parts - Drawers - Assembly

Postby Stephane Kovari » Tue, Mar 25 2014, 1:59PM

I've been trying to group a line of Drawer fronts across 3 cabinet,s approx. 30'' wide 6'' high with the grain going the length of all three cabinets.
When I add the drawers into the cabinet it always sais the width is 30'' and the height is 6'' even when I rotate the grain, and because it thinks it is 30'' wide, it doesn't nest my drawer fronts into my material at the CNC?!?
Does anyone know of a solution or why it does this??

Stéphane

Unfortunately, ecabinets does not support grain matching over multiple cabinets.
You may have to draw those drawer fronts in a .dxf file and nest it manually.

Josh,

Unless I am missing something, eCabinet System 6 does indeed now support Grain Matching of parts over multple cabinets... It was added in Build 12.

  • Group parts for grain matching expanded to multiple cabinets in an Assembly. (ADDED)

You do have to take that cabinets and make an assembly out of them - and then you can GROUP the parts in that Assembly.

Scott Vaal has responded to Stephane's other post in the eCabinet Systems area. Stephane's issue may be related to his version of Control Nesting at the machine.

See the related thread in the other area....
