XSurf Utility

Post by Blair Courtney »

Hello All,

I am receiving a "runtime error '5'" when I try to run my xsurf utility. This happened in September and I had to reinstall Thermwood program.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Blair,

X-Surf is a CNC Automation product that was distributed to Canadian client's BEFORE Thermwood introduced their own integrated FLYCUT program in the more recent THM control systems. Unfortunately the THM FLYCUT utility is not available for older generation controllers.

As you know, we are looking into your company's sudden issue with the utility and we hope to be able to find out what has changed in your older generation THM environment that could be causing the strange error. The error you are having has not been encountered before and we are trying our hardest to find the cause and a solution.

We will be continuing to communicate you via our ongoing email thread.

Regards,

Just an update...

Blair appeared to be having other issues that pointed to a hard disk drive issue. The hard drive was replaced and a special modified version of XSurf with some additional error trapping/reporting code was sent and installed. So far so good - no errors reported and the client is surfacing once again.
