ice box sub-zero

Post by Brian Shannon »

Check out this Rift Oak Flush Shaker job I just finished. The \"ice box\" is a 48\" Sub-Zero. Simple but elegant. The inset(flush) cabinets were easy to build \"dead square\" with the help of my Thermwood router. As you all know, inset and Euro cabinets are a pain in the xxx if they are not square and accurate.

Brian,

They are face frame cabinets. All 1 3/4\" accept the upper top rails are 3\".

Rift Oak

Post by Rob Magary »

Is rift oak the same as quarter sawn? Also, did it come from Conestoga?

Rob,

Rift(Vertical Grain oak) is very similar to quarter sawn but it does not have the modulary rays that are present in quarter sawn oak. Rift is milled a lot like quarter sawn yet slightly different. The doors were purchased from CalDoor in California.
