I have done a kitchen layout. There is an island that has base cabinets and upper cabinets hanging from the ceiling above. I used a 1" thick wall to anchor the cabinets to.
Now, I would like to hide that wall when in presentation mode so the client doesn't see it and sees things as they will actually be.

I think you have to right click on the wall just before you do a presentation view, and then select wall only. Maybe a problem with an island wall that I don't know about or with the hide wall feature.

As Ralph mentioned, you can go to Render view, right-click on a wall, then select Hide Wall Only.
