Trays Stock

Postby Greg Wood » Sat, Nov 07 2015, 2:34PM

Is there a way to tell the software to make a drawer box out of board stock instead of sheet stock. I am making trays for a pantry and for both look and strength I make them out of oak.

Thanks

Yes, just add your board stock to the sheet goods listing, ie you have a board 8" wide by 96" long and 5/8" thick and your drawer parts are maybe 5" wide by 20" long it will nest them on that size sheet (board) - sometimes I glue up a panel 24" wide and 30" long by 3/4" thick and add that to my sheet goods then nest a drawer from it and make it a small chest - you can have a plywood deck with solid sides by setting your deck material different.

Awesome. I should have thought about that myself.

In addition to Tim's suggestion, you can also set "Maximum Drawer box Height" to accommodate general heights of the boxes for your common board stock.
