cs43 double pass issue

Post by MarcoKnjaschewitsch »

Seeing if anyone has a problem where on a double pass part the second time around on part to remove last part the machine is about 0.5mm shifted over by the looks leaving a slight edge to the "skin" it was to remove on the last pass to hit the waste board? it seems to have just started popping up...there something that could have ever so slightly shifted on machine needing fine tuning or a possible shift in program that needs to be adjusted?

Hi Marco,
That is likely caused by tooling deflection. There is a feature in Control Nesting in the settings page, under the cut parameters section. Under the drop-down menu, select the "Conventional with Outline Non-Final Pass Climb" or the opposite - and see if that helps.
It is worded in the most confusing way possible, but the feature works great!

Just got a bit weirder as its all the way around most noticeable on 3 sides tho cutting through but that 0.5mm away from where it did its first plunge rout around ...scratching my head here...Im running a older Version of Control nesting 5.73 but havent changed anything...even on manual cut it did it...

There a chance this is the tool holder or collet? going to do a bit of swapping of tools as i dont think it does the same when doing an outline operation with a 1/4" tool just the 1/2" is doing this.

Hi Marco,
Had this problem a few years back. If you can lower the head with the cutter you use, then in the extended position see if you can obtain any movement in the tool by gripping it with your hands push in the X and Y axis. We found that we always checked this when tool was in its retracted state and it didnt show up some loose bolts. :wall: Naturally put some safety proceedures in place.
I was kicking myelf once found, as we were running the jobs twice on the material to get sizes correct. The staff loved the overtime.
Thermwood tech support checked the programs and all was good so it required a technician visit which due to my location required a day travelling. Bummer.
Hope you find the fault.

Regards
