Adding shelf deletes a drawer box

Post by Donald Thomson »

In the attached cabinet, I had a drawer placed just above the fixed shelf in the middle of the cabinet. I went into shelf editor to add adjustable shelves in the space above the drawer and the drawer was removed from the cabinet. Went back to Main editor and the drawer was in fact gone.

Went back to drawer editor and added the drawer back in and it stayed. Not sure if adding a shelf is supposed to remove a drawer box or not. I wouldn't think so.

Hi,Donald. I do not know if this is how it is designed to work or not. but, notice that if you add the drawer first, then select the opening to add a shelf. the entire opening including the drawer is highlighted.(It does not recognize the drawer) So when the shelf is added the drawer is removed. however, if you add the Shelf first, then the Drawer. it works fine.

Thanks Scott.

I just thought it kinda non-intuitive that adding a shelf would remove a drawer box. Like you said, not sure if this is the way it's designed to work or not.
