Using the f/x editor

Post by Carmen Addamo »

Can someone enlighten me as to its purpose. I have been trying to figure out a way to lock the width of a fixed shelf to 4" for example no matter the cabinet depth but haven't figured out a way

Hi Carmen. Here is a video where I demonstrate this feature for half shelves.

Try the following in the "Shelf/Partion Editor":
Formula Editor.jpg
CabinetDepth-BackThickness-4.00000000000000-0.25000000000000

Where:
  • CabinetDepth is the built in variable for the depth of the cabinet.
  • BackThickness is the built in variable for the thickness of the BACK.
  • 4.0 is YOUR Fixed Shelf Width desired.
  • 0.25 is YOUR "Back Inset" of the BACK component. (Change this to match your construction method's BACK "Back Inset".)

carmen,

I just want to point out that I was assuming a "drawer stretcher" sort of application. The same sort of thing could be done when applied to the "Front Offset".
