Stretcher bug

Post by Jeremy Schiffer »

Go to cabinet editor, load Std. Base Frameless
Go to stretcher editor
Click on the top and deck to highlight
Click Add Stretcher
Don't change anything in the settings, just click OK
Click on the newly created stretcher, then click Adjust Stretcher
Click Advanced
Click Inset 4, and change to Top. (It should default to the Front side)
Click OK
The stretcher flies away from the cabinet.
Now, any changes to any of the inset values causes unpredictable movement and sizing of the stretcher.

Well that's interesting. We will get it listed for correction for the next version. Thank you.

I have noted things in stretcher editor but haven't been able to reproduce them on a reliable basis.

Go into stretcher editor
Edit/adjust a stretcher
Go back to CE

I've found on some occasions that the stretchers are now butt ends instead of M&T ends. This has happened to me on several occasions. Imagine my surprise when I cut on the CNC some stretchers don't have tenons. Like I said, I've not been able to reproduce this on a reliable basis. Just kinda random. I know, as a former software developer for 18 years, that these bugs are almost impossible to track down.
Sincerely,

We have been having the same issues - dados changing position, disappearing altogether, etc. when going from eCabs to the CNC. We decided to try to get to the bottom of it, and I'm thinking (hoping) that this stretcher bug may be the root of a lot of our woes.

I have noticed if I angle them, if there is one dimension locked it causes problems.
