Part Editor Cuts

Could anyone give an idea on how to create a tapered post. The part editor only allows cuts 2 dimensionally, how do you cut the other sides?

Oh never mind, went back in the forum to find I've gotta make a profile tool. Now I've created a geometry for the tool, able to save the geometry but it's not being save as a profile tool, still trying.

Tom, make sure the profile is closed. Extend and cut all your line ends again or use the select chain option to find the break.

Contour was closed, just wasn't following the right steps to create the tool, now just figuring out how to make it work the way I need it to. It's a learning curve, or cliff.

For machining we cut them out as folds. We have even CADed out big tapered range hoods pocketed panels into the front, flipped and folded.
