Has anyone figured out a way to profile model the inside edge of a door with a flat recessed panel?

I have other programs I can make the door shown (example only) with dedicated profile tooling. However if I need to do a custom profile I have to profile model it. In this case I'm just going to model it in Solidworks but when I have a bunch of different sizes that sucks.
I profile modeled some door frames the other day and rabbited the back inside edge for glass. I think I'll do something like that for another job I have coming up and add a 1/4" panel.

I feel like I am missing something with this one. I can't see too much of an issue creating a door like this. You won't be able to create it as an MDF door in the Door Designer, but you should be able to use a cabinet back, delete the extra parts, pocket the center in Part Editor, come out, set your constraints on the pocket, and then go back in to sweep the profile. Should now be a resizable "door" with your profiles. The "door" I made is attached.

That is basically what I'm trying to do but for whatever reason I'm getting an error. Maybe it has to do with the profile touching the bottom of the pocket. I'll try it a few different ways to see if I can get it to work.

Is it an error in eCabinets or at the machine? Let me know if you can't get it figured out.

Maybe you could try drawing the model so it stops .2mm off the bottom of the pocket, then just add .2mm to the daylight value of the modelling tool at the machine.

Clint, I'm having a problem with these doors. It gives me a "Calculate Tool Path Error". I'm using a 1/4" BN and 1/8" BN. Can you take a look please?

Here is another door with the same profile that I was able to get it to apply on a flat recess panel by not letting the profile touch the bottom of the pocket. I'm still getting the same error when trying to nest it though. It will however work as a single door in PM with the same setup. Maybe it has something to do with the pocketing that doesn't occur in PM.

Is the Tooling test5 file not what you need?

The Save Tooling/Settings will only grab the tooling and settings from Control Nesting. It does not get us anything from Profile Modeler, your machines tool table, etc. Export gets us most everything.

So I have two possible solutions to work around the issue:

1. Your group settings are calling for a 1/4" ballnose and 1/8" endmill to model. If you actually wanted the second tool to be an 1/8" ballnose(not sure as your previous post indicated both were ballnose bits), if you add a stock to leave on to the 1/4" tool, it should all work and model.

2. Roll Control Nesting back to 6.14.

There is an issue in part of what does the modeling that requires a deep dive to see what is going. Rolling back to 6.14 puts you at the earlier version of the portion of the software that is causing issue.

I'll report back when I know more.

For that particular profile I'd like it to use the 1/4" BN for the main cutting with the 1/8" BN getting closer in the corners and the 1/8" end mill to clean out the step downs. Is that not possible? If I set the 1/4" BN to leave stock will it not do the entire profile again with the 1/8" BN?
