The numbers would be perfect for us (as long as it uses numbers in sequence and doesn't pull random numbers like 1 then 205.
We use the 1p33X4_Address_Sheet report and there is not much room left, especially when we have banding diagrams. The number would basically have to replace the color symbols but that would still be great.
Thank you for the picture, the software for creating the labels is a bit tricky to work with so pictures of actual labels printed tends to be a must. As far as I can tell the numbers are sequential. I've tested with a batch job that had a cabinet and an assembly, and another job that was just one cabinet that I modified quantity to be six in Control Nesting. Both cases, each individual cabinet had its own number.
Do you want the number to be a certain color or just black? If so, what color do you want it to be?

Just replace the colored symble and make them as large as possible in the leftover area. They don't need to be colored. My only concern with using numbers instead of letters is that people may confuse them with cabinet numbers. But if numbers are all that can be done, they will still be infinitely better and less confusing than the colored symbols.

The reason for numbers is because they are pulling from a database. In the case of this one, I'm just populating the number from the database. If it were to be letters instead, I have to set up ifs and thens with random generators and that will take time so it falls under a charged service. Same thing with different colors.
I can however choose the font type, a single color, bold, italic, bold italic, strikeout and underline with ease. If any of those options interest you I can implement them without issue.
Attached are the two label files. Give them a test and let me know if they need to be adjusted. Seem to look OK on mine. I realized my mistake in thinking there was way more room at the bottom. Technically could go bigger on the number, but longer job names may interfere. The number shouldn't go any higher than the edgebanding material name line.
And yes, using an older version of Crystal Reports.
I'll look at it and see what is going on. I had to stretch open the placement window for it to allow me to place the new field in, then shrank it back, but evidently Crystal Reports did not approve of that.
Give these a try. This time it let me add the field without stretching the placement window. Maybe the turning my computer off and back on today fixed it .

I'm glad it works well for you. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's "Yup no problem, it should only take me about a half hour," then three days later I'm wondering why I agreed to do it when I'm back at square one.
