Post processor from Fusion 360

Post by Eric Sooy »

I'm messing around with Fusion 360 and particularly the post processor. I found a couple that were made by individuals but I'm wondering if there is an "official" post processor? One hurdle is that I cannot add a G91 in front of certain paths. I can do it manually, but since I'm not experienced much in doing the posts myself, I'd like to learn more. I've done mostly handheld and manual editing for a looong time, with more complicated things done by friends. But, time for me to step it up.

In my adventures with Fusion 360, I was told by Fusion Tech support,
That the owner of Autocad and Fusion 360, had a Thermwood in his garage at home.
as such they guaranteed, me the Post processor would be spot on.
I never got around to trying it out, as I switched to Aspire

There is no official F360 post processor. The 2 that I found done by users are pretty close but could be better.

Carl Bass was the CEO of Autodesk for a period of time.. He bought an M90-105 for his shop that was featured in a Popular Science magazine article a few years back..

Sorry for the ghosting on this. It was a combination of me getting delayed, and the forum being spotty with reply notifications. My experience on phpBB forums is that notifications can sometime be wonky.

I said earlier that there are no "official" thermwood posts. In fact they do have a 5 axis and 3 axis in their post library and I've tried those, and they produce the same code. I didn't mention that I have a C67 5 axis, but this is for 3 axis programs.

There are a number of things I need to manually change with the post that are not addressed in the post settings within F360. In the post file, there is one line that I changed so any G47 is posted as a G46, since I don't use tool length compensation. Other than that, editing the post further is beyond me.

I've made a document to list what I need to change in the gcode, like some rapids that I don't like, adding G92B-135, and my z offset which I do manually. I contacted a place to see if they can make some modifications.
