Closed contour problem in part editor

Post by Jason Gooch »

Hi everyone - this is an elementary problem, but I can NOT get past it for some reason. I'm trying to make a simple cut out of a panel (trying to make a \"D\" shaped panel). After making a 3-point arc, then using straight lines to make a complete D shape, I cannot select the contour. I've extended the lines, zoomed in and made sure the lines intersect - I get a message that the contour is not closed. I've closed and restarted the software, shut down and restarted the computer, disemboweled a goat and shaved my own head, nothing's working! I know this is either A) a dumb mistake on my part, or B) a colossal conspiracy. Please help! Quickly....

Thanks - Jason

Jason,
Did you trim the lines after you have extended them? (I'm only asking because you don't mention it in your quest?)

Hey Paul - well, dangit, somehow it's working now. I did that at one point - overlapped the lines, then trimmed them - that time no luck. Now... the spheres are aligned, it's working. Thanks for the impetus to try again.

Cheers - Jason

Jason,
disemboweled a goat and shaved my own head, nothing's working! I know this is either A) a dumb mistake on my part, or B) a colossal conspiracy.
You didn't hold your mouth at the right angle...while tying the goats bowels. Or did you forget to tie them
