Quirk or bug

Post by Michael Yeargain »

Take a cabinet to the cabinet editor, remove either side, add doors and drawers (because they are removed when you remove the side) the sizes for the drawer fronts are now wrong.

Mike

Look back a few pages for a post I made on doors. I am making assemblies with 3 cabinets. The middle cabinet has both sides and the right and left style deleted. When you add doors or drawer fronts to the center cabinet, 1 side will have the 1/2\" overlay and the other side of the drawer front or door is inset 1/2\".

I have not found a solution and all assemblies I build this way do this.

Gene Kimmi,

I recall from memory the post you made. Are you still having problems with this?

I didn't get back to this one as it was a stinker from what I remember. Did you find anything out?

I have not gotten this resolved. Every assembly I create does this. I wonder if it is tied into the problem people are having deleting assemblies. One of the Thermwood guys worked on it and sent it back to me and I still had problems with it. I have been so busy, I haven't had time to mess with it anymore or get back to Thermwood on it.

I make all my multi-section cabinets this way because I like the styles to run from the top of the cabinet to the bottom instead of the top and bottom rails running all the way across the cabinet.

I was wondering why you needed this type of cabinet set up. Now I know the rest of the story. 8)

Justin,

I am running V5.1 Bld2 on both computers. Home/work

The graphics card for the shop computer is a nVidia, Quadro FX 4500, 512MB dual VGA or DVI. Nice and Pretty pricey too.

The card for my home computer is a MSI Radeon xpress 200 series. Pretty quick for a Big Box purchase.

Thanks.

On which cabinet, out of the ones you sent me, does the drawers change the size after removing one of the sides?

Justin,

Here is the assembly that I am having trouble with. I have made several other assemblies similar to this, and have the same problems with them.
