Bill and Jason, Thank you both. I thought this might be a freak code, I guess thats what happens when we want machines to think for themselves. Still wondering why it didn't do a tool call for the second operation. Jason there was an M00 after the M242 but I'll remove it before I run. Thanks for you...

Machining Error

Hello Everyone, Well this figures I'm on my last part and get an error saying ( While radius compensation is on, the current command cannot be executed.) I've checked my code and there is an odd place where the program goes from one operation to another and should change tools but doesn't give the T...

Bill, The program post download is on the first page. It will have to be altered for a 5x10 table and starting position may be different. Check it high without the router running to make sure it clears any table fixtures. Your initial spoilboard daylight value will have to be set up manually. I don'...

Brian, In less you have some crazy buying power I don't think any distributer will sell to you even for playing with, however a local fab shop may sell you some large chunks and a tube of glue. Most companies will act like its rocket science but its really all about preparation and following all the...

Hey Mike, We machine solid surface all the time and have good success with a 1/4\" upshear with 1\" cut length. Put the tool as far in the collet as the spiral cut will allow as this will eliminate flex. Run 18,000 rpm at 150 to 180 ipm to start and if it is cutting okay then maybe go to 2...

Router Guys

Hi All, Just want to inform everyone about something my uncle has made for us. It is basicaly a 10mm shank tool collet for anyone using a 5, 8, 10, 20, 32, or 40 mm tool with a 10mm shank and set screw. The only alternative that I've found is a tool holder specificaly made for this which cost about ...

Dave, We are using a Southeastern tool 3/8 comp cutter and pay about 38$ to 40$. Cutter speed 18000rpm at 600 to 700 ipm. Nick is right about it wearing in one place just a small notch where the melamine surface is. You can however continue to use the bit for plywood or mdf for a short time. Brian i...

Mike, I definitly agree with the slow pay of big home improvement stores. I personaly am not looking into working for them althought it may be someone elses perogative. But this could apply to the guy down the street who has a design center and wants to offer something more unique and keep the money...

Mike, I think there would need to be a limit to what the client can get from the software. For example we only give out pretty pictures unless the client wants to pay for complete drawings. This limits the amount of job theft. Each clients version could have a code that will send the full file to th...

Dave,

Very sorry for the delay. I'm not sure why its not working for you but tommorow I'll give it a look. Are you using a wasteboard? If so how often are
you flycutting your spoilboard? We only flycut once a year.

Ed, Wow, I hope you're not losing sleep over this. One thing at a time. I don't think any of Thermwoods routers for cabinet shops cost any less than 75 or 80K so I'm not sure where the 10K came from. You have considered that this business will take time (alot) from your contracting. Do you have that...

Hey Thom, Since this is an ongoing conversation I thought to point out a few advantages to full thickness dado's for fixed shelves. 1. You can band either side. 2. You can place either way. 3. You only have one setting to change in parameters. 4. You will have 2 less operations (to cut tenon thickne...

Brian,

I just upgraded to bobart x pro and got the dxf's carvings with it. Hopefully this weekend I'll do some for myself. The carvings look pretty cool for the most part. Some thing for everyone, over 6000 to choose from.

Thom,

The absolute easiest way to avoid this is use a full thickness dado. Simply choose blind dado the in dado parameters set tenon thickness to 100%.
