san diego area shop
I'm looking for a San Diego area production sharing company. On the eCabinets member locations page for California, there are just 10 members for the entire state! I called the one closest to me in Miramar, and got a strange answering machine message that didn't sound at all like a business - so I ...

toe kick construction
We build toe kicks as shown in the picture, with stretchers running back to front. We'll add a stretcher for every 24" of width (or length - whatever you want to call that direction).
Is there a way to model this in eCabs?

Re: door gaps
Thanks for both responses.
With regard to the "standoff" dimension, let me give an example. One of the ways we do scribe is to screw a piece of HW to the side of the cabinet that butts into the wall. This piece of HW is typically 3/4" thick by 3" wide by the height of the cabinet, with the 3" side ...

door gaps
A couple beginner questions about door gaps:
How do you (or can you) create a double door with unequal door widths? Say I have a 26" wide cabinets and I want a double door with the right door at 10" wide and the left door at 16" wide?
Also, on frame-less cabs, how do specify the gap between the ...

Re: object elevation
I can get around this by typing 63 when I really want 62.
As I'm new to this program, I'm not sure if it's me not understanding something about the software, or if I'm hitting a bug. After running into a lot of these little glitches, I'm realizing that it's the software. But I like the simplicity ...

Re: measure cabinet separation
How would you go about selecting an object that is obscured by another object above it? For example, a base cabinet directly below an upper? I looked at the show/hide options, but I didn't see a way to hide a specific cabinet.
Thanks
Thanks

object elevation
In the detail room area of custom layout, I've found that when I try to locate objects by modifying their position value that the value I specify doesn't "take", or doesn't take as I specify. For example, I'll type 63 for the value to the base of the wall and then press Return. But as soon as I ...

measure cabinet separation
I'm following the instructions in the help manual to find cabinet-to-cabinet separation, but I just don't see it.
I'm in the "Detail Room" editor, looking at elevation view. I have double clicked to select two adjacent cabinets. The help guide then says, "Read the Distance". Hmmm.... where? On the ...

Re: display panel placement
Thanks Mike. I currently use several SW applications that are for niche markets, so I'm quite used to dealing with work-arounds.
Another possible solution is to set my move increment to a very small value in order to get it within a hair of where I want it.

Re: display panel placement
Mike, a couple things: First of all, it's Shift + right click to drag an item - not control + left click. Secondly, this doesn't answer the question I asked.
When I select an item in Overhead View, the position values on the left side of the screen are present but grayed out. By "grayed out", I ...

Re: display panel placement
I must be missing something basic here. In Overhead view I installed a display panel. Then I double clicked on the panel to select it. Then I right click on the wall and select Associate to Wall. But the position values for the panel are grayed out. In fact, when I double click on ANY item in ...

Re: display panel placement
I guess the first question I should have asked is: what technique do people use to create an appliance that has panels? Do you place an appliance and then locate display panels on the face of the appliance? Do you just locate display panels out in space? Or something else?

Newbie question here.

Re: beginner custom layout question
A simple solution. Thanks.
My assumption then is that eCabs does NOT have a feature that allows you to align adjacent cabinets so that they MOVE or RESIZE together?

Re: beginner custom layout question
I got sidetracked for awhile, but I hope this thread will still get attention.
Thanks for the responses. However, I didn't get my question answered. The question is how to make 2 adjacent cabinets "sticky". Specifically, let's say I have 2 upper cabinets 24" wide that are adjacent. Cabinet #1 is 2 ...
