Re: Manually cutting a shape in middle of board??
This may be difficult to explain, but here goes: At the machine you can program 0,0 of programs to be wherever you want, your default position is where the pop up pins are, you can move it away by programing a new 0,0 for the machine to reference during the program. You can nest your part to the low...

You could also nest it to the corner and use a fixture offset to move it to the center or use a really big collar value. You can set up a material type to do this automatically. If you have to nest several items in specific places then Scott's suggested method is the better way.

Re: transferring old files to new ecabs
Click File on the toolbar and then backup/restore settings. Choose what you want backed up and where you want it backed up to and then use File, Backup. When you get the new computer set up with a fresh install use file, restore. Before you restore you'll have to go back into the backup/restore sett...

Re: Invalid character in EIA block
Sometimes when an error occurs during a tool change a line of code is inserted into the program that has to be deleted, I think its purpose is to make you check and make sure the right tool is in the head. At least that happens to me sometimes, I'm using thm v7 and the latest control nesting.

Re: Has any one cut Polypropylene?
Any reason why? I Haven't cut Polypropylene yet but have cut some 1 inch thick UHMW. I'd look at the chip loads for a large diameter double o flute and go from there, as long as you aren't going very deep I don't think you'll have too much of a problem. The material may try and curl on you though. I...

Re: Please help me with shaker doors
Here's my variation, the door is constrained, cuts through rather than pocket and also creates the insert panel. You'll need a flat spiral tool set up in profile modeler to create the rabbet that the panel fits in to. Also you have to adjust the depth to change the width and just ignore the width as...

Re: RTA hole pattern selection
When using applied hardware per part, make sure to click apply box of the new pattern you want and don't click apply in the default box; I've had that trip me up before. Also, when you first select the hole pattern you want, click apply to cabinet.

Re: I need a Geometry Lesson
That plugin looks like flattery and you don't need pro for most plugins, check out sketchucation forums for download. If you want to make dxf files from it you'll either need pro, additional plugins or install an older version of sketchup (7 I think?) and google still has a dwg/dxf plugin for free l...

Besides this forum, there are training videos/books and email. Most of the time if you post here your question will eventually be answered, sometimes it takes a while. If you want to contact Thermwood directly try: http://www.ecabinetsystems.com/ecabinet_systems_contact_information.htm The hoops fil...

Re: Can anyone help - Hoops file error loading a job
Maybe see if you can restore the file to a previous version, make a copy first. I've never tried with ecabinets but I've fixed several autocad drawings by using dropbox as my default save folder.

Re: Framed doors
Well, doing it in Ecabinets you could create a door from a back, use the profile model tool and then constrain it, making it parametric and batchable. You could even do the insert for that door too by insetting a back to match the cut out, then all you need is a cut list and use batch to create the ...

Re: Framed doors
Try making an mdf door in the door editor and use a custom interior tool that rabbets and also almost cuts through (you can't go all the way through. This way would require a flip op but would be faster to design.

Re: Framed doors
Yep, just make it a rectangle in the shape manager and set up a tool on the machine for that type of region. In Ecabinets you just use it to profile on the left or right of the geometry. It's been a while since I've done it, but I was able to get it working this way.
