Cabinet Molding from Parts Editor

I think this program is a blessing to cabinet workers, Thank you people at Ecabinet I have been working with the parts editor and made a molding that I use on my cabinets as you can see from the pitchers that I have posted. The profile came out perfect the only thing that I couldn’t do is put the rope molding on it slowed down my computer real bad I had to dump it Time for a new computer any suggestion?

Sorry David, There is no one tool profile that was used to cut this profile. There were about six different cutting tools used and created in the Shape Manager. And was cut at different depths, this drawing is what I used to cut the profile. And you would have to be proficient in the making of the tool in the Shape Manager then cut the part out in the parts editor.

Kerry, pretty good try, just from what I posted and there was no information except for the demotions. I’m impressed, I’m going to try and post the dimension and the steps that I used to cut this profile Hope this helps. Also click on the image to view it at its original size some reason the original pitcher show more of the details

Thank you both Larry & Kerry, This is a great profile, and I can't believe you cut this in the profile editor Larry. I would sure hate to have to replicate it without the .tol file. Nice job, both of you!

Kerry are there specific offsets for the tool?

David,
The piece shown was just a 2\" X 96\" X 1 1/8\" display cube.
I started the single profile at the lower left hand corner and used comp left and a -1 1/8\" plunge.
If you start at a different place you might have to make adjustments. Kerry

Nice job on the tool Kerry, I down loaded the tool my self and was surprised, it was my understanding that the tool worked like a router Bit if it is to be cut on a CNC machine and I can’t under stand how you’re tool can cut in a circle? But it works on the board in the program. By the way I us a Display Board instead of the Display Cubes what’s the different? also on this profile there is a 1/2\" rope profile but if you add one it slows down the computer unless you have a fast computer.

Larry,
Think of the profiles you create in the shape manager as scrapers not rotary bits. ( I made this one symmetrical so that it would cut correctly on both sides of a board) This is what allows the asymmetrical door panel profiles. The machines take this profile information and figure out how to cut them.
I used a display cube because I didn't have a display board the correct size. It was easier. The display board should work fine. You might have to play with the cutter placement depending on the orientation of the board in the part editor.

I have a 3D Cad Program and when I do a drawing I do the same thing to make a profile. Know I understand what is going on thanks Kerry.
