We ran out of coffee beans a couple of days ago. Dalhart has six banks but only one grocery store. Our grocery store doesn't carry whole bean coffee. The beautiful big brown van saved the day and once again \"Life is Good\".
Just thought I would share my addiction.

What no StarBucks in the big city of Dalhart?
we got one a year ago....if i was anything but a cabinetbuilder i might be able to afford a cup!!!!!!
i also depend on the big brown truck for my caffine fix....

Well I hope Eric and Duane are reading this posting. They are obviously missing a Coffee section in the Member Store.

Let's see... eCabs coffee beans, special Thermwood thermal mugs, filters, coffee makers. Definitely enough items to fill a section.

Don't you just love black coffee with a little sawdust in the cup. Thats how I get my fiber.

Hey Kerry
Speaking of coffee...I just got back from a cross country car trip. I was driving to CA with my son. He just got a job with Panasonic writing computer code for In Flight Entertainment for 1st class airline passengers. He's making three times more than I ever have making sawdust and he never graduated high school. Go figure. Anyway, back to coffee. We took I-40 across the panhandle and that was probably the high point of the trip. Got a great photo during a dense fog and freezing rain storm. We stopped in Amarillo for breakfast at the Big Texan Steak Ranch (photo attached), home of the FREE 72 ounce steak (free if you can finish it in 60 minutes) Well, the coffee there (during the all you can eat breakfast buffet) was the best I have ever had. When I asked the owner what kind it was, he said it was made by Cains and was shipped to them as a concentrate in a box (just like yer better wines). Just add hot water and serve. It was so damn good that you couldn't hardly change the taste by adding cream. Beats the pants of Starbucks regular. I had no idea Dalhart was so close to Amarillo. Still kind of a long way to go for coffee though.

I haven't been to the Big Texan In 20 years. I might have to go to sample the coffee. The trees in Dalhart were beautiful covered with the frost during recent storms. That is a Great Picture.

Mike Seisser,
I am a Columbian Supremo fan. I try different roasters of this bean and try to find places that ship freshly roasted.
I have never tried any of the Hawaiian Coffees. I haven't been impressed by the Starbucks Beans. I want to try Jamaican Blue Mountain but $40 a lb. is a bit steep for everyday. (You know if this were the seventies we might have law enforcement interested in this thread. Columbian? Hawaiian? Jamaican? What are we talking about?)
