Arched doors

My question concerns door design. Is it possible to design a door in eCabinets, generate a drawing and a cutlist for this door? Specifically, I have a customer who wants a double door cabinet. Each door will have one half of the arch. Is this possible in eCabinets? TIA.

Joey,

I presume you are looking for a 5 pc. door. It can be done in the parts editor.
Each part would be created and then brought together as an assembly in the cab editor, and saved as an assembly. The doors could then be aligned to the cab in the cab editor and associated to the cab.

A lengthy process to say the least .

Actually, 5 piece or 1 piece would work. I figured that I would have to go into the parts editor in which I'm kind of intimidated by right now. The doors are for an armoire in which together, the double doors form a single arch. Thanks again. Guess I will have to learn the parts editor.

If it is a single piece door it would be easy to create in the parts editor. It's the 5 pc. doors that would be a challenge...........hehehe!

And yes you need to send some time playing in the parts editor, it can really become a friend.

Can you resize a five piece door created in the Part Editor or do you have to recreate it every time it changes in size?

Bill,

A square 5 piece door can be made that is resizeable. An arched door I haven't tried, but I doubt it because the arch radius would need to change if the door were made wider.

Thanks David and Mike. Okay, Mike, have my first question. The part editor is calling for tools. Is this a file that i download somewhere or do I have to create my own. I'm going to have a go at creating a 5 piece door so I would need tools to do the cope and stick profile as well as raise a panel I guess. The stick profile would just be a simple 1/4\" bead with a 1/2\" deep groove. The panel would be a simple 1 1/2\" cove but I would really like to add a backcut profile too. Figured I may as well use this as a learing experience. Thanks again.

Thanks Joe! I really dislike reinventing the wheel. Next question. When I cut the parts and take them back to the editor, I guess I somehow put them together and save them as a door?

Joey, If you have the learning mode on (on by default) in the cabinet editor, hold the cursor over the red arrow pointing at a blue dot, there will be some good directions pop up on how to align parts.
