In the custom layout in detail room,how do you insert 2 base cabs on 22.5 degree angled walls?I tried free style and that is not very precise.I am trying to get the corner of the ffs to just touch.

Scot,
If you right click, when you are detailing the room, you should have an \"insert item method\" option to \"align to back\". This will align the back of the cabinet to the wall.

Now, if the middle wall is 54\" and the two side walls are 36\",how do you know what the distance is between the inside corner of the wall and the back corner of the cabinet is when you place the two cabinets together?
Or what math do you use to figure what size cabinet whould go on a 54\" wall at 22.5 degree walls?

Scot,
Highlight the cabinet, then hover over the wall until it turns yellow. At this point a dimension spanning the two entities should appear.

Or take the plan view of the layout into the Line Drawing Editor and dimension that way. Remember to select the cabinets you want before you go into the line drawing editor.

If I understand your question, You have 2 cabinets on each side of a 45 degree(135) inside corner.

Pull out your scientific calculator(under the view command, in your windows calculator in your computer).

Each cabinet is at 22.5 degreees,....so enter 22.5 in the caculator.

then hit the tan button

times( *) the depth of the cabinets(24)
the answer is 9.94

This will work for framed cabinets, but will not for frameless; at least to my knowlege. In the pics below you will see the potential problems during install. and customer use. (or should I say NOT use.)

Any how...

Place the two cabinets on the sides first. Now, from the elevation view, select the cabinet and adjust the value in the appropriate fields and press enter.
Then select the two cabinets and a dimemension will appear with the exact measurement needed to fill the space.

That was exactly what I was looking for.I thought it had something to do with the tan. but did not Know the rest of the formula.The attachment is helping too.

I like that simple method Michael. I was always placing the middle cabinet first and then the to side ones.....of course it was a major cause of brain-damage. This is great.

just make a cabinet , back only 1/4\" mat 1/4\" wide and place it in the corner. It will snap to the wall but adjust accordingly. You only need to touch one of the nodes
