I was wondering if anyone can assist me with how I would represent creating a bend in a part . I need to show a bend on a board , 5/4\" x 6 3/8\" that will be used for a chair arm . I am in the process of transfering my version of a ( \"Stickley Style \") Bow Arm Morris chair into e-cabs and I am stuck with these parts that I typically steam bend.
Hey Vince, not an area I am super sharp in. BUt, I do know you will have to start with a display board or cube and cut away what you do not want, similar to what you would do if you were band sawing it Sam Maloof style, only with your keyboard and less dust!Create your display cube or board the width, depth and lenght you need and then take it into the part editor and cut away, It will take some practice, but about anything can be done, do a search on the part editor and you will find many tips.
You definitely want to go with a disply cube...the machinig in the parts editor can seem pretty ominous but that is where it is gonna happen for you...
if you want to machine the part on a CNC then you will need to make it a display panel...
