Splitting an Island Leg

Anyone have a suggestion as to how I can split an island leg? I can't bring it into part manager but I am assuming this can be done quite simply. Here is the leg I'm looking to split...

Adams 35.25" Reeded Leg in Cherry - Need to split in 1/2

You have two choices Dan--embed that leg into the cabinet so only half shows or make your own in the Part Editor.

If you want it merely for the presentation I would embed it in the cabinet. If you are purchasing it via Thermwood, simply edit your cart contents and remove one leg before you submit the order (assuming you intend to rip the leg for the halves).

Thanks Dan - that's what I was doing - simply jamming it in the cabinet and making the mental note to 1/2 my order. Just thought there might be something easy I'm overlooking.

If you absolutely had to cut this leg or a leg like it, you could use a cad program like autocad/turocad/solidworks/Rino or even sketchup(free) to load a 3d file from one of the online vendors who sell these legs and supply a 3d dxf file. Load, trim and save it. Export it to stl and then open in the DPE. This is really if you just had to have it!

So true...you can also use AccuTrans3D (which has a free version) to convert it to STL for loading into the Display Part Editor.
