Laptop

Post by Gregory Hairston »

I just installed ecab on my wifes laptop to see if it works. It is a intel dual core 1.6ghz with 3 Gig of ram and a shared memory Video card. preliminary test shows ecab working ok. I want to stress test it. Can anyone recommend some things for me to try.

Thanks

Greg

That job sure loves memory...885MB at peak with 869MB virtual memory!!! You're going to have to give up theatre Kerry.

I can manipulate it with only small delays. The delays are enough though that I would want to scream after a little while working with that layout.

Ok kerry it gave my PC a work out. How about posting a file that can be manipulated on a normal computer that is challenging not something that will bog down a desktop. I want to use Ecab but if I cant manipulate a drawing this is not a good way to convince me to do it. :D

Greg,

You ask for a Stress Test

Try THIS ONE

Nick,

I am using a dell 380
Pentium 4 3.6 ghz
2 gig RAM (just ordered 2 more)
nVidia Quadro 4500 512mb with Dean's Quadro Tweak

That job slows this computer way down also. It has too many part editor cuts.
