Gary, take your cabinet into the LDE and then go to the tool bar and click "PRT" for part. Then click the part that you do not want to see, it should turn green, then rt-click and choose HIDE. The part should disappear.
Yes I did Kerry, but I should be out in the shop cutting parts. Just got 40 sheets in a couple of hours ago and they are sitting on the fork lift waiting to be cut. It has gone from cool to HOT out in the shop today. Nothing like a saw dust paste to cool things off.
I did that but the whole cabinet went transparent, what I need to do is with the cabinet front facing you turn it 90 degrees,make that side transparent so I can dimension the distance from the back of the drawer to inside of the back.
Trying to see how long a drawer I can use.

The distance between the back of the drawer and back of the cabinet is determined by the "minimum back inset" amount that you type in when installing the drawer.
To answer your question though, take your cabinet into the LDE and click the "cab" icon, then you click your rotate icon and rotate the cabinet 90 degrees. Then click the "PRT" icon and click the side of the cabinet (1) time to highlight the side only. Then right click and choose HIDE. Your part will go away.
There is a measuring tool in the Cabinet/Assembly Editor that you could use rather than going all the way to the Line Drawing Editor. I'm sure that there is a thread in the forum on how to do that, but the short of it is:
1. Position the cabinet and hide the part as you discussed.
2. Double-click on the cabinet to select it.
3. Left-click on the Measuring tool icon. A dimensions dialog will display.
4. Move the cursor to an endpoint and left-click.
5. Move the cursor to the other endpoint (do not left-click, it anchors the cursor at a new measuring point).
The dimensions dialog will show various dimensions and updates as you rubberband from point-to-point. You may need to look at the "Axis Designator" to determine which axis is being measured.
