Help for the new user

Post by Greg Zall »

I am just getting started to learn ecabinets and it is an uphill battle. I wonder if I could find anyone for a privite tutoring? I would be willing to pay as I know sometimes one hour with someone who knows the program can be very helpful. I am in Sonoma slightly north of San Francisco in California. I realize that Thermwood does have classes I probably would not have time to attend.

But as far as help goes here is a typical question i have. In the Detail room screen I want to place a cabinet in a certain place that does not but up to another cabinet, say just 32" from the bank of drawers is there a quick way to place it in exactly the correct position?

thanks for the help,

Greg,
Look at the left hand panel. Make sur "Place mode" is set to "Align to back". Then just below that set the move increment objects setting to 32"

Drop in your cabinets next to each other. Then select the cabinet you want to move. Hold down the shift key and use the cursor keys on your keyboard to move the cabinet around. Since you have the "OBJECT" move increment to 32", each time you hit the cursor keys (while holding shift) your cabinet will move 32".

To see how far 2 cabinets are apartf rom each other. Just select both cabinets. You should see a red number pop up between the cabs.

Example: the cabs are 37" a part from each other. You want to make them 32" a part from each other. Change the "OBJECT" move increment to 5". select the cabinet you want to move. Hold shift and use the cursor keys to move the cabinet closer.

If there is an easier way, please post!
