Door detail ques.

Post by Peter Walsh »

Maybe I missed it, or there is a trick I haven't learned yet, but how do you set the door on a wall to swing the opposite way from the way eCab wants to install it? I can't seem to find that. The customer always spots this when you show them the rendering, and wonders what else have I missed?
many thanks,
Justin Melhiser

Peter

Currently there is not a way to reverse the door knob position. Currently wall doors get installed how you see them and can not be changed.

Good one George. (chuckle)
I was trying to avoid all the special display work being the lazy person that I am.
Thanks for the investment.

Peter,
This has come up before.
For a right hand door place the door on the face side of the wall,
For a Left hand door place the door on the back side of your wall
Be sure and check the Apply to Both Sides box on the door dialog.

George, and Kerry great info as usual, and thanks for your time in helping us 'newbies' to make the most use of eCab.
(Now that I've got your attention I've got about a hundred more questions...well, a couple anyway :D ).
1-how did you get the casing to show on the wall, and how do you change the size/texture of it ?
2- where did you find the 6-panel door and are there others that can be used ?
3-I've seen room displays that seem to have crown or base or other moldings applied to the walls. This adds a lot to the realism of the presentation view; how is it done ?
Been spending a lot of time going thru tutorials and forum posts lately. I need to setup an eCab "Tips & How-To's" folder on my PC to store and catalog stuff like how to download and convert files for eCab use.
Justin, Jason, et.al. at eCab - another plug for presentation enhancements - the better and more professional we can (more easily) make the presentations look for prospective client, the more stuff we will sell. I know I'm "preachin' to the choir", but I had to say it again.

Kerry,
Your solution was the first thing I thought of, but couldn't figure out how to place the door on the backside of the wall without spending some time on it. How do you do that?

Peter,

With your wall in the elevation view look to the left on your screen and you will see Wall View
Use the drop down menu to choose front or back
