LDE

Post by Gregory Hairston »

I went with a friend to Home Depot who was getting their Kitchen designed by the HD Design experts. I was very impressed with the software they were using. I asked the design person to show me a few things and they went from working drawing to rendered drawings effortlessly. The software was 20-20. They were able to get rendered aspects by setting the camera in the working drawing view. Although they made no changes in front of us they were able to manipulate views easily.

All this is just to ask if there are any plans to make the LDE in Ecab more user friendly. Some things that would be good to see implemented is the ability to go from the room Layout to a dimensioned drawing with options on the level of dimensioning. Ex. Only doors and drawers, or box dimensions only or full detail. Currently I find the LDE to be one of the weaker and more time consuming parts of Ecab. To make working drawings or room layouts for the shop I spend more time playing with this portion than I would like.

Maybe someone could shed some light on what is planned down the road in future versions

Greg, all you have to do is click PRT and high light any parts you do not want to see and then hide them. Measure away.
