Can someone send me a formatted excel spread sheet for importing batch cabinets. I try following the instruction in the manual but can't seem to format one without having problems. Please Help,

Re: Formatted excel spread sheet
I haven't used this feature before so I just tried one using the example from eCabinet Systems Made Easy. Every time I try to do the import, eCabinets crashes. I tried with and without the header row. Both caused a crash. The cabinet names and directory both exist on my machine. Does the Excel file need to be saved to a specific folder?

Patric and David,
I've just started using this feature with one of my customers, I have attached one of the files he sent me. All I do is delete the header row then down load directly to the controller through the excel download screen.
Good Luck

Re: Formatted excel spread sheet
Keep the headings in the sheet when saving. At the moment the Assembly import isnt working, but the cabinet import should be ok. I have attached an example with a few comments which should help you.
If this still doesnt work you may not be inputting the wording correctly, to see if you are copy and paste your cab name from ecabinets into the first coumn and do the same for the directory. This way you will have the correct spelling and you will knoe if its working.
I will also attach a blank import sheet for you to try this, you will have to start entering your information in A2 and the name column doesnt have to have a value.
HTH.

Re: Formatted excel spread sheet
Leigh,
I used your spreadsheet to load my cabinets and it worked perfectly. I double checked my spreadsheet and it is setup just like yours. Even the cell formatting is the same. Don't know why mine won't work. What version of Excel are you using? Mine is Excel2000 SP3.

Ok F2 is stored as text, select the cell F2 and then you will see a little ! appear in a yellow box, just select this and convert to number. If this doesnt work select all cells and format cells to be general.
Let me know if this works.

Re: Formatted excel spread sheet
select the arrow above number 1, which will select the whole sheet. Then right click this and go to format cells and change to general.
That will work for you.

Re: Formatted excel spread sheet
Leigh,
I changed the formatting but it still didn't work. Then I noticed that I didn't have a column named "New Name". I added the column and all is well. Not sure how I missed that. I guess when the help file said optional, I assumed the column heading was optional. Anyway, thanks for your help.
