Guys,
I am trying to find some sources for a beading trim like http://www.klisemfg.com/Factsheet.php?pattern=K1843. This is the only one I can find, and it is a made-to-order house so the $/ft is high.
Any one know where I can find some of this?
thanks,
Gary,
Thanks for the reply. The Enkeboll item costs about $10/ft. I was trying to better $4.23 (maybe unreasonable for me? Going to need about 100 feet.)
In addition, the trim needs to sit in a dadoed slot 1/4 - 3/8" wide by 1/4" deep, so the Enkeboll item would need major trimming to get it to fit.
Sometimes the hardest part of a project is just getting the specialty items like this trim.
thanks,
Have another idea try Walzcraft, Beaded Rope Molding # 1107 or 1714 you will have to pin it to flat stock but it is about $3.15 a Lineal Ft. But it only comes in select Maple

It is not regular rope mold it is a beaded mold. It has little round beads in a row I don't know why they call it rope I guess because of the repitious design.

Gary,
Thanks for the tip to check Walzcraft, but I went to their site and could not find the product numbers you listed. They don't seem to have a search button either. Did you find these online, or in the printed lit.?
If online, can you send me a link?
regards,
Gary,
I e-mailed Walzcraft for a quote (if they sell that trim separately) and also for a catalog. I have not used any of their products. For doors, I use Cal-Door.
Again, thanks.
Glenn,
Thanks for the lead.
My trim must be no more than 3/8" wide X 3/8" thick to fit. I don't mind cutting some off, but it must not cut through the beading which would happen here.
Cranky little problem when (like me) you are one of those guys that insists on building it "just right" or you don't sleep nights....
Also amazing how few mfr's make this. I try to make myself feel better by considering the upside of it: It is certain to mean my project will be unlike the run-of-the-mill stuff.
I welcome any and all other suggestions.
thanks to all,
The trim in question is defined by the already approved cab design, and is not a rope twist but a 'beaded' trim. So, I can't really take a rope twist and use it unmodified, or cut slots in it. Also, the question was not in finding one for display purposes in eCab, but rather in actually finding a supplier who can deliver on order.
There seems to be only two or three suppliers who make a beaded trim. I was trying to find more suppliers and improve the price point.
Looks like the least expensive supplier is a made-to-order mill house at $4.23/linear ft.
Thanks,
