Drawer runners

Post by Simon Burrows »

Hi,
I’m trying to add fixed shelves with left and right insets to use as drawer runners but I can only add to one side as the opening height won’t allow me to insert the other side………very frustrating. Any ideas?

Simon

Simon, maybe you can use Partitions with top and bottom insets.

The partition will only work for a single drawer. :(

Thanks, I’ve tried using stretchers but as yet I’ve not had much joy, I can only select the sides as my two components running a stretcher along the x axis. Ecabs won’t allow me to select the “back and “face frame” to allow a stretcher to run in the z axis (front to back)?

Simon,

Add the stretcher (up down stretcher, front back orientation) between the deck and the top. Rotate the grain 90 degrees
Select the stretcher and click adjust stretcher.

Lock inset 2 and enter a value in inset one that places the top of the stretcher where you want it. Lock inset one
with insets one and two locked enter a value in inset two that places the bottom of the stretcher where you want it.
Leave both insets locked
Enter a value of 0 in inset 3
Lock inset three
enter a value of 0 in inset four
lock inset four
enter a value of o in inset five to move the stretcher to the left or a value of 0 in inset 6 to move it to the right.
Lock the left or the Right inset
repeat for any other stretchers.
