Good morning everyone,
I need to say that the Shopbot link has so far exceeded my expectations when it comes to ease of use. I have had the shopbot running for about 3 days, and the link has made the learning curve easier to manage (at least for me).
I do have a small problem though, and I'm not sure where the solution lies at this time. All my drilling and cutting is being done with a 1/4" bit at this time. When I cut the cup holes, it is cutting the proper diameter, but leaving a plug in the center. The cutting starts in the center, and then cuts the perimeter properly. I've included my settings;
If you look at your settings, you have a .25" tool set to Rout/Dado, Drill and Interpolate. Plus your max interpolate is set to 2". This means that it will use the .25" tool to interpolate any holes up to 2" in diameter. As you have seen will leave some material in the center. Because you are only using 1 tool, you might want the machine to pocket that hole which would require you to uncheck the interpolate button or reduce the Max Interpolate to less then the cup hole diameter. Then you will need to make sure that your pocket tool diameter is .25".
