None of the hardware is associated...
I've been working hard at learning this software and I'm trying to get a grasp on the hardware portion and am clueless as to why none of the hardware is associated to any of the patterns...I'm guessing this is a flaw with my install - what can I do to fix this? Is there any list showing what files belong to what part numbers so I can at least manually associate the few I use?

Re: None of the hardware is associated...
Michael the way it works is when you choose a hinge or runner for use in the cabinet you associate a hole pattern to it. You do this in the door/ drawer editor, drawer box editor or the cabinet defaults or when you select a KD in the construction settings etc.
Re: None of the hardware is associated...
The hardware and hole pattern associations will be applied to the next door, drawer front, or drawer box installation that you make. If those components are installed, you will probably have to remove them and reinstall them so the new defaults take effect.

Re: None of the hardware is associated...
I think you guys are misunderstanding me. All the hardware you can select - once selected, says there is no hole pattern associated with this hardware...so even if I then use that hardware and add a door, the hardware is specified but no hole pattern is added to the door. I'm not sure how to fix that besides getting layouts for all the hardware you can choose and then (since the file names aren't specific model #s) I would have to open each pattern file and check the dimensions to see what model #s it's used for. Shouldn't the hardware available and the pattern files that come with the software be associated by default and you just have to choose the hardware? My problem is for every piece of hardware I try to use I have to sift through all the related pattern files to try to find the right one...PITA. If there is a way of knowing what files are for what hardware then this would be a lot easier.
Thanks for the help tho, this program is pretty amazing even with these little bumps in the road.

The hardware hole patterns in the Standard library are identified by a part number and a prefix identifying the manufacturer. Many of the patterns are already associated, though you apparently found some that are not and they are most likely manufacturers that were added to our store after we generated the patterns. In many cases, you will be able to locate a pattern for another manufacturer that is the same as your needs, however, it would behoove you to open that file in the Hardware Hole Editor and compare it to the manufacturer's template. In reality, these patterns are fairly easy to create, so as some may say, "If you want it done right, etc.". For example, some of the patterns that were created at Thermwood for drawer slides have an excessive number of holes that you need to edit to establish the hole pattern that you prefer. Some may not want the hole pattern to be drilled to depth, so they may change the depth so that only a shallow hole is visible as a mark. In any case, you should still edit or create your own patterns so that you are assured of the right pattern and depths.
You'll also find that many of the members are very helpfull. You can also solicit a pattern from our members. Even at that, you should still review the pattern before you use it.
As you indicated, some of the setup may seem to be a PITA, but actually the process goes pretty quickly. The good thing is that once you have it in your library, you'll know that it is correct; it will remain associated with the hardware you've chosen and it's available for other like components.
