Assembly not staying Highlighted?

Post by richard nessmith »

Hi Everyone,
Im trying to load an assembly, from the custom layout screen to the Line Drawing Editor, and add dimintions, notes, ect. but when I do the assembly will not remain highlighted green. It flickers for a second then returns to black  This is driving me crazy, I know its something simple I'm over looking.....hopefully. I've poored over the "Nearly Completed Guide", and found nothing, any help would be greatly appreceated.
Thanks,

Are you sure you pushed the Assy icon so that the assemblies are to be highlighted

Richard,

I believe I followed your steps, but could not duplicate your problem.

From Custom Layout, I selected an Assembly. Then clicked on the Line Drawing Editor and selected take Assembly.

In Line Drawing Editor, select the Assy icon. Move your cursor of the assembly (changes to magenta wireframe), then left-click on it (changes to green wireframe). If you have Cab selected it I select just a cabinet if there is one, or Part, just a component. If you have selected Room or Wall there will be nothing to select.

If you've followed those steps, then I would suggest that you post the assembly file to the forum.

Also, I'm sure that someone will want to know a ton of information about your computer, graphics card, and operating system. If you are performing the procedurally as I've outlined, it typically points in this direction.

Another option would be to contact our help desk.

Hope someone else can help.

The Note button must also be de-selected or you will have a problem selecting anything. If Note is on you will not have your regular mouse icon.

Joe's input was right on. If you have the Note option selected, the assembly does indeed flutter to green and back to black.

Thanks, Joe
