Hi everyone,
We have been testing feed speeds on small part release and have found by reducing our speed by 30% we eliminate a lip on the bottom of the part.
we run the 9.5mm triple flute compression cutter tooling at 16m a minute but I have friend who runs his non Thermwood cnc at 21M a minute with no lip issues. That's a red herring as I am happy with the speed but not the lip as it requires manually sanding and plays havoc with the edgebander.
I am going to try 12mm cutters as my walmart 9.5mm cutter must be flexing.
A simple request is could the release part have a slower speed on release. For those who don't have a issue they can keep it at 100% but for walmart users could we drop it a percentage. I think this would be a simple programming thing.
Maybe others who have found this lip on the released parts could say something as I would imagine my lone voice won't cut much mustard at Fort Thermwood.
Yeah we get a lip on parts that are double cut, prob about .2 of a mm. Goes through the edger ok, but not so good if it's getting 2 packed. Is there an option to onion skin? ie the cutter goes around the part say .5mm oversize and down to say 1mm from the bed, and then the second pass cleans up the whole part?
