New Drawer Box Function

Post by leigh mills »

Hi guys,

As we now have the function to take the drawer box parts into the part editor does the drawer box have hardware association aswell. At the moment when you add a hole pattern to the drawer box it applys the hole pattern to the side panel, is it possible to also apply a hole pattern to the drawer box side in the same way it does to the side panel? This is because we do different size drawer boxes, so then we would be able to simply change the drawer box hole patterns for the new size instead of taking the drawer box side panel into part editor.

thanks

I do not believe the part editor work done to a drawer box has any relation to a 'hole pattern' at this time.
It's cool to be able to edit the drawer box parts, but as Kerry pointed out in a recent post, any slide holes in the drawer box itself would create flip side machining on each left / right end, so most shops find that impractical. You can save an .x_t file and apply it to any part in the part editor though, so if there's something repetitive that you do on a regular basis, you can use that .x_t file over and over on any part you wish.
