Crashing when Printing from Constraint Manager

Post by JohnLashuay »

Hi Guys!

I have tried to print a part with its constraint measurements in the CM and each time it crashes on me. I was able to print with V6.1, but now with V6.2 it isn't working. Any ideas??

John,

I know that we have been fighting printing issues, but I am not seeing this particular problem. I am not saying that there is not a problem, just that with a simple testing, it is not showing its ugly head.

Could you please post a simple job or some steps that will reproduce this error.

I look forward to trying to figure this out.

Ryan,

I attached the cabinet file that I was trying to print. I tried it again this morning wit the same results.

I simply take this cabinet back to the CM and click the print button.

-Thanks!!

John,

I am going to need some more information. I am unable to make this crash when printing on my Vista64 machine. So to test further, let me get some details and make some suggestions to try as well.
  1. What type of printer is being used? I am using an HP 5SI Laserjet, and that works fine. I also used the PDF and Microsoft Document Writer (XPS) that comes installed with Windows.
  2. What is the full error message when the system crashes? When this happens, you should be able to look at the details and it will list the faulting module name. This DLL name should help in identifying what is happening.
Now for some things to try.
  • Select a different printer, such as PDF or XPS. Both of these can easily be printed then to your main printer until we can identify the problem, assuming this method works for you.
I am still looking into this further. I have found another issue with the cabinet that might be related to a Beta version issue. Since this is the case, could you try to recreate the cabinet with the current Build2 version. To save some time, you might want to take it to the Contour Mode and save the edges pattern.

Let me know what you find or decide to try.

Ryan,

I brought in this cabinet and regenerated it. Then brought it into the CM.
I just tried to print again and there is no error other than the "ecabinet systems has encountered a problem and needs to close...tell microsoft about this problem..."

I went back in and tried to print again as a pdf and the same thing happens.

I am using an HP 7300 Officejet. I have printed from the CM quite a few times before in v5.2 and v6b1.

I also brought in a cabinet from the ecab standard library > cut a simple hole > them brought it into the CM and the same thing is happening.

I also went back in and tried to print using the Microsoft XPS and I get the same results.

Anything else I can try or any other info that may help?
