NZ Joiner Magazine
How's it going?
I just got the lastest nz joiner mag and they had all about nesting machines and nesting programs!
Was very disapointed not to see any thermwoods or ecabinets listed in it!
We need more thermwoods and ecabinets in NZ!
Cheers

Re: NZ Joiner Magazine
I agree Thom!!!!!
How about one at our place here in Paeroa?
Its nice and central for people to come and see, only an hour from about 50% of NZ population.
I'd be happy to demonstrate and teach people to use eCabinets.
I'd polish it every night promise!

I am sure if you New Zealanders talk to Jason he will gladly ship you a Thermwood for Demonstration purposes. If he hangs up on you, don't take it personally, its probably a bad line.

Re: NZ Joiner Magazine
On a more serious note,
I agree with Thom, Thermwood has dropped of the scene here in NZ.
I only know of 2 CNC's in the country and one is down in the other island, almost cheaper to go to Aussie than down there. No offense Thom
I feel there is a real possibility to get some production sharing going on with the right team promoting it. With lots of little guys out there that can't afford the software/machine now.
As they grow, if they already have eCab integrated into the business a thermwood is the logical choice. But it starts small.

Re: NZ Joiner Magazine
Hi Thom & Bryan,
I guess Thermwood would love to sell more machines to NZ but the cost to run a dealership is not cheap. I would seriously look at putting a business case to Jan Olinger based on what you are prepared to do and how you will gain sales for them. The extra Ecabinet users may not be that attractive due to no immediate Thermwood sales but that will happen long term.
If I was Jan I would look at offering you a 2.4m by 1.2m demo machine that you lease from Thermwood at a fixed NZ Dollar rate that you can purchase at a residual in 48 months time or they take it back. Then they could get a commitment on how you will promote the Thermwood brand and how many demonstrations you get each month. With each Thermwood sale that commission will come off the end purchase price or you have X months with no payments. That way if you do very little and no sales result you get a Thermwood cheaper than normal. If you sell 5 or more it would could mean you have a Thermwood for free.
Jan will probably kill me for writing this post.
Regards Neville

Re: NZ Joiner Magazine
Akela pty is doing the sales and commissioning of routers in Australia and New Zealand, they have an agent up in Auckland but they have been pretty busy with the start up of it all. I know the company know alot about machines and software but not sure exactly how much they know about Joinery and eCabinets. There is the possibility that Karl is not aware of the NZ Joiners magazine. Next time I talk to Karl I will have a talk to him about this as I know most Joiners in NZ do read this magazine.
